Module 02 · Admissions, wards, beds, discharge

Know which bed is free, who is in it, and what they are owed and owe.

Admissions are opened from a consultation or directly from the ward. The bed board shows every ward and bed in real time, nursing records sit on the admission, and daily bed charges post to the patient's bill automatically.

Admissions

What it does

Capabilities, as they exist in the product today.

Wards and beds

  • Wards and beds configured per branch, with bed status: available, occupied, reserved or in maintenance
  • A live bed board across the hospital, with occupancy by ward
  • Admissions with an attending doctor trail, and transfers between beds and wards

Nursing and ward rounds

  • Observations and progress notes recorded against the admission
  • A medication administration record (MAR) with scheduled and PRN doses signed off at the bedside
  • Diet orders, started and stopped on the record

Billing and discharge

  • Daily bed charges posted automatically; additional charges added from the ward
  • Deposits and interim payments tracked against the running bill
  • Guided discharge with a printed discharge summary

How the work moves.

Who uses it: ward nurses and in-charges, attending doctors, ward clerks, cashiers.

    Admit

    From consultation or the ward, choosing the ward and bed from the live board.

    Nurse

    Observations, notes and the MAR are recorded on the admission as the shift goes.

    Charge

    Bed days post each night; procedures and consumables are added from the ward.

    Discharge

    A checklist confirms the bill, medication and follow-up before the summary prints.

About inpatient and bed management

Can we see occupancy across all wards?
Yes. The bed board and the hospital dashboard show active admissions, occupied beds and available beds for the whole branch.
Are bed charges per day or per night?
Daily bed charges are posted by a scheduled job each night for every active admission at the ward's configured rate.
